The Students of Project Management SIG was formed
partially because of the challenge of creating Student Chapters
within the Institute.
Because of the guidelines for maintaining
a chapter, the ebb and flow of student members, and the
incorporation issue made it close to impossible to sustain
these components.
At the Nashville Symposium in 2001, the PMI Board of
Directors
voted on having Student Chapters as components under local
PMI chapters.
If you're a teacher/professor of project management
and interested
in working with college students or you are a college student,
you may want to start a Local Interest Group (LIG) associated
with our Students of Project Management SIG. Here are our
guidelines:
